Trimble Survey Controller Emulator is a desktop application that replicates the look, feel, and workflow of Trimble’s Survey Controller field software. It is designed for training, demonstrations, and office-based rehearsal of field procedures without requiring a physical data collector or instrument. Survey teams can use it to practice setups, refine coding standards, and review or prepare jobs before heading to the field.

Key features:

  • Mirrors the Survey Controller user interface for realistic practice
  • Allows creation, opening, and editing of native Survey Controller job files
  • Supports common survey workflows such as job setup, coordinate system selection, coding/feature collection, and stakeout
  • Useful for training new staff, documenting procedures, and testing field configurations in advance
  • Keyboard and mouse navigation for quick, desktop-friendly operation

Typical use cases:

  • Training and onboarding without tying up field equipment
  • Rehearsing complex workflows and stakeout sequences
  • Reviewing and preparing jobs, code lists, and settings in the office
  • Creating screenshots or step-by-step guides for standard operating procedures

Notes:

  • The emulator simulates operations for learning and preparation; it does not perform real measurements
  • Instrument connections and GNSS data streams are not available as live inputs in the emulator
  • Runs on Windows desktop environments
